Chocolatevalentine

"Chocolatevalentine"
1998 Registered Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding

Is there anything better than chocolate AND a valentine? Meet "Jordan", who is both! This handsome gelding was a complete milkdud at the racetrack in his younger days, and spent the next several years as a pasture pet. When he came to us after his owner passed away, he made it pretty clear he was used to getting his way- and that way was spoiled. Jordan prefered fine dining on treats, not being ridden, and thinking he should make his own decisions on training. When he feels like it, he will try to tell you what he thinks with his mouth. Jordan may not be a riding horse anymore, but we quickly have put him in a groundwork program to remind him that people are in charge. He was extremely disappointed at first, but he is starting to accept this fact and getting better. Deep down, Jordan really enjoys attention from people, and is coming to terms with behaving. He loves other horses after being alone for a few years, and could be considered a stage-5 clinger. We are working on his self-confidence being away from his buddies. Jordan prefers the outdoor life, and would enjoy a home with 24/7 turnout with a run-in. This guy will continue to need groundwork with an experienced horse person, but would make a really nice companion for other geldings- and he's pretty to look at. With a little bit of patience and hard work, this guy could be you and your horse's Chocolatevalentine.
