E J's Legacy ("EJ")
2013 Bay 16.2h Registered Thoroughbred Gelding

Hello tall, dark, and handsome! EJ defines all of those characteristics. This lovely gelding transferred to Lollypop Farm from a rescue in Kentucky. EJ started his racing career at the age of 2, and didn't end until February 2021 (so he is 2022 RRP eligible!) He ran at several tracks in NY before ending up in Puerto Rico 2 years ago. Luckily, he made it back to the mainland and was retired after he made it clear he was done racing (he flat out refused to leave the starting gate his last few races). EJ has 54 starts in his lifetime, but luckily came away with minimal issues. He has an old osselett on his RF, but it doesn't bother him. Our vets feel he is suitable for riding & low-level jumping. EJ has been brought back to work slowly and patiently, and is currently walking & trotting under saddle. He has such an amazing personality, and tries his heart out. He enjoys people, and is playful in turnout. He can be a bit of a crank during feed time, and during grooming, but nothing drastic. EJ is one of those horses who somebody would really have fun with training. While EJ is a really good guy and is proving to be more whoa than go under saddle most of the time, he still green and has some spooky moments or high-energy days, and will require a trainer, or advanced rider who is calm and confident in the saddle, and not phased by green horse antics.  If you have the knowledge and time to put into a project, EJ will really be worth it in the end. This guy has become a barn favorite around Lollypop, and we want nothing more than for him to find his perfect family!
