"Chelo" is a handsome boy who raced 32 times before being abandoned by his racing owners, and was found wandering the forests of Puerto Rico. The CTA took him in, and brought him back to health. Chelo is back in the mainland looking for his perfect home! This guy didn't come away from the track without some issues, and does have chips in both knees as well as an osselet in his RF fetlock. While Chelo may not have a future as a performance horse (which he would have probably been amazing at!), he is sound for trails and light flatwork. He is also good with other horses. Chelo's best feature is his curious personality, and his handsome looks! He will follow you around the pasture all day long while cleaning, and takes great selfies. :) Chelo is still very green, and will need an experienced rider to help him transition from track to riding. He has been started down in Puerto Rico, and was going walk-trot-canter. Anybody would be lucky to call this guy theirs!
